Ricardo A. Nieves, M.D.

Dr. Nieves earned his BS degree from the Universidad de Turabo in Puerto Rico (1983-1987) and his M.D. degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe and the Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico (1987-1991).  He completed his Preliminary in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (1991-1992), his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital/Moss Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1992-1995), and his Fellowship in Interventional Spine, Musculoskeletal, and Pain Medicine at Georgia Pain Physicians, P.C. (Emory-Georgia Pain Physicians) in Woodstock, Georgia (1999-2000).

Dr. Nieves is a Board Certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist with sub-specialty fellowship training and Board Certification in Pain Medicine.  He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME), the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians.  He is a Fellow of The Interventional Pain Practice (World Institute of Pain) and of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians.  And, he holds numerous Competency Certificates in related disciplines.

Dr. Nieves is a licensed physician in Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming with more than 20 years of experience in the medical-legal field.  He is currently President of Tristate Medical-legal & Diagnostic Solutions, Inc. and President of Colorado Spine, Pain and Sports Medicine, P.C., the headquarters of both in Ft. Collins, Colorado.  Previously, he served as President and Medical Director of Carlsbad Spine, Pain, and Sports Medicine, P.C. (2000-2008) in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and as a physician in the Group Practices of the New Jersey Physical Medical Associates in Voorhees, New Jersey (1995-1996) and of North-Eastern Rehabilitation Associates in Scranton, Pennsylvania (1996-1999).
