The School of Breathing Sciences offers the following Continuing Education (CE) Courses and Certificate Programs for Winter Trimester 2016. Additional courses available for CE credit for the Winter 2016 trimester will be listed in January 2016.

301 Respiratory Psychophysiology

404 Breathing Habit Assessment  (Prerequisite: 301).

Certificate Program (125 hours CE)

The 2016 Educational Capnography Certificate program offered by the School of Breathing Sciences is available for enrollment now.

The Educational Capnography Certificate program qualifies healthcare practitioners, human service professionals, performance consultants, health educators, and breath-workers to use capnography and related instrumentation for (1) assessing breathing habits and their effects on health and performance and (2) teaching clients to manage and/or overcome dysfunctional breathing habits that compromise respiration and related physiology.

The 125-hour curriculum includes three 15-hour workshop courses, one 30-hour Case Review Proseminar, and one 50-hour Service Practicum (working with clients in your own setting). Those completing the Certificate earn SIX academic units and 75 CE hours (continuing education) upon completing the Certificate. The Certificate includes the following Graduate School offerings:

301 Respiratory Psychophysiology (1 unit, 15 hours CE).
January 30-31, 2016: 09:00-17:30 Mountain Time each day

404 Breathing Habit Assessment (1 unit, 15 hours CE).
February 6-7, 2016:   09:00-17:30 Mountain Time each day

405 Breathing Habit Modification (1 unit, 15 hours CE)
February 13-14, 2016: 09:00-17:30 Mountain Time each day

601 Case Analysis &Review (Proseminars 2 units, 30 hours CE)
Dates and times to be announced.
Proseminars are generally scheduled as three hour sessions on weekdays.

704 Service Practicum (1 unit, 50 hours)
Each student arranges the individual sessions with his clients at the convenience of the student and client. Written assessment forms are then presented to the Practicum Supervisor.

Each course is held on a Saturday and Sunday, a week apart (see above dates). All three courses are completed in three weeks. Case Review Sessions and the Practicum are completed during the last 12 weeks of the trimester.
